SC Governor's Race
The governor of South Carolina is elected to serve a four-year term. The state constitution limits a person to holding the office to two consecutive terms but does not limit the total number of times the same person can be governor. The duties of the governor of South Carolina include submitting an executive budget and making sure the state's laws are enforced. He or she also acts as head of state and chief executive of the executive branch.

SC Lieutenant Governor's Races
A constitutional amendment adopted in 2012 requires the governor and lieutenant governor to run together. The lieutenant governor also serves as the president of the SC Senate and takes on the position of governor if the sitting governor is not able to perform the office's duties.
