This month, in honor of the season, we celebrate Campbell's Covered Bridge – the last remaining covered bridge in South Carolina. It was built in 1909 and is located in Greenville County near the community of Gowensville. One of four covered bridges built in northeastern Greenville County in the early 20th century, this one was named for Lafayette Campbell, the owner of a nearby grist mill who allowed his land to be used for the bridge's construction.

Gullah Celebration | Hilton Head Island, February 1-28, 2016

{ SC Christmas Tree Farms }
Christmas trees are grown in South Carolina from the Upstate to the Lowcountry. Cypress, cedar, and pine varieties are most common in our state. Some farms in the northern reaches of SC also grow fraser firs. Although most of the state's climate doesn't support the growth of firs, many local Christmas tree farms receive regular deliveries of fresh fraser firs.
