South Carolina Aiken County North Augusta North Augusta is located in Aiken County directly across the Savannah River from Augusta, Georgia. It began as a resort town in the early 1900s. With its warm climate and the luxurious Hampton Terrace Hotel already attracting the rich and famous from around the country, the movie industry considered it as the location of Hollywood. Fearing an influx of "sin", city leaders did not encourage the idea and Hollywood became a town in California. North Augusta continued to thrive as a riverfront city, attractive to residents and visitors alike.
