South Carolina Cherokee County Blacksburg
Blacksburg is located in
Cherokee County. It was named for John G. Black, who, in the late 1800s, persuaded the C.C. & C. Railroad Company to lay track through the small town. The new depot was known as Black's Station and in 1888 the town was incorporated as Blacksburg.
