Atlantic Beach, South Carolina

South Carolina Horry County Atlantic Beach Located just south of North Myrtle Beach, Atlantic Beach was established around 1934 as an oceanfront community for African Americans. Nicknamed "The Black Pearl" it was one of the most popular resorts on the East Coast for African Americans during the years of segregation. Atlantic Beach was incorporated in 1966.
