Indian Land, South Carolina – Grazing Horses

This photo of a vanishing rural landscape, near Indian Land in Lancaster County, was taken by Herb Dickinson of Fort Mill in April 2007.

Herb writes: "With the spread of Charlotte, bordering Lancaster County is seeing incredible growth in track housing and corporate centers being built in the panhandle of the county. The beautiful scenery along the Lancaster highway in this area is disappearing. I wanted to capture the farm with the owner's permission. Even with the hum of the highway, the horses peacefully wait their afternoon feeding with the wild blackberries blooming outside the fence."
