A note about libraries – most libraries in South Carolina are maintained by our county governments or by our colleges and universities. The City of Myrtle Beach operates our only municipal library, Chapin Memorial Library. South Carolina also has three private libraries: Charleston Library Society, Heritage Library, and Timrod Library.
