- telephone and cable TV in every room or suite
- complimentary breakfast
- free parking
To us, a motel is a building where guests can go straight from the parking lot to their rooms, whereas guests at hotels and inns must go through a lobby and/or hallway to reach their rooms. If we classify an accommodation as a motel, we also note that guests "enter rooms from outside walkways."
We report AAA Diamond ratings and Mobil Star ratings whenever they are available.
The $ cost codes used in this guide were estimated by averaging the lowest and highest rates posted on a hotel's guest room rate pages. Then we categorized these average rates as follows:
 $ = Under $60
$$ = $60-99
$$$ = $100-149
$$$$ = $150-199
$$$$$ = $200 & Up
