South Carolina Pickens County Pickens
Pickens is known as "The Gem of the Foothills." It is the county seat of
Pickens County.
A few Europeans traders lived among the
Cherokee in this area in the early 1800s. After the mid-1800s, more
Scottish and Irish settlers moved into the area.
The name of the city and the county honored
Revolutionary War hero
Andrew Pickens.
Easley is the largest city near Pickens.
